yep, this also happened with 2U, awkward and too much fanservice, but then YunJae surfaced and SM had no choice than to let it be. there are lots of pairings that were or still are in this situation. i just hope that jongin and luhan will be able to overcome this awkwardness phase because it’ll be such a shame for people with such great chemistry like them to act like strangers. and i’m not even talking about couple moments, just interesting interactions. ^^
also, yes, it’s eye catching that before they were very comfortable around each other and stuff but once this kailu business started…yeah.
i think they’re putting them at the front and center for visual purposes, yes, but also because judging from their mama mv, they are each other’s counterpart.

omg 2U! i got into dbsk fairly late but they were my first kpop loves and i’ve always thought yunjae were a little too over the top at times (even though i have grown to love them too!) i agree with you. i’m hoping that the same thing won’t happen with lukai as well, they have so much chemistry and it’ll be a such a shame for them to put that to waste. nothing will ever beat that chemistry for me and i just wish they’d go back to that comfortable (although ust laden lol) skinship they had in the showcase and for jongin to smile more. sigh.
i also wonder at that lack of interaction lately and it’s breaking my heart tbh and with jongin looking so depressed as well. i’ve seen them interact, and i’ve seen how close they are, so why is lulu always with sehun these days? there’s barely any interaction, and there’s some sort of awkwardness there now. i don’t doubt for a moment that there’s a “love triangle” (as cliche as that sounds) going on with having lulu’s affections. even though i adore the bromance between sekai. i mean sehun is just so painfully obvious about it and lulu’s basking in it while poor jongin is at the side looking lonely.
lol bb they could care less about saving the world, as long as they’re in the vicinity of each other, it’s all good. that chemistry is crazy. x)
Don’t get me wrong, I myself adore 2U and their friendship. I mean look at the HAHA SONG - genius stuff. But for me YunJae is too real to be left aside. I can’t say that they didn’t do fanservice because they did. But for me, what I absolutely love about their relationship is the little things that they do, thinking no one could see them. Kudos to Junsu for helping us see when they were holding hands under the table XD

Jongin seriously worries me. If he keeps this up, soon he won’t be able to dance anymore. Sometimes I don’t know what do I want, to hug him or to kill him. Jongin is like a kid when he’s not sizzling on the stage, and Luhan is everyone’s object of adoration. From what I saw Jongin doesn’t act like the others sticking like glue on Luhan’s side, he’s just there, reserved, quiet, maybe even detached, sometimes going from a little daring and flirty to downright shy and embarrassed. What it’s even more interesting it’s the way Luhan responds to it. He really treats Jongin different. My point of view.
Also, what you said about the LuKaiHun triangle, all I can say is that my theory will be disclosed in a fanfic I plan to write once I get away from exams ^ ^
